Kenyon Cap

6.00

This hat fits just right and seems to flatter every head. When my daughter took one to college, it was immediately adopted by two friends; it’s that kind of hat.  So knit one for yourself, and one to share – we’ve sized it for Youth, Women, and Men. A tassel (or two) is a small but important addition.

And - we knit the cap and then turned it inside out to feature the reverse stockinette stitch side, but you can feature whichever side you prefer – the directions are the same, up until you finish by weaving in ends and attaching a tassel.

Skills Needed:

Casting on (CO), knitting (K), purling (P), and using circular and double pointed needles

Yarn:

92 (106, 124) yds/84 (97, 113) m very soft worsted weight, 4 yds /3.6 m of which will be for the tassel

Needles:

·    One 16”/41 cm circular needle, US size 7/4.5 mm

·    One set double pointed (dpns), size US 7/4.5 mm

or whatever needle size gives you gauge; (Making sure you are knitting to gauge ensures your hat will not be too small or too large.)
