Stonington Ear Warmer

5.00

You don’t always need a full hat – just something to keep your ears warm.  Here’s an easy but interesting knit that you can make in many iterations by changing the yarn and buttons (which are sewn on decoratively; there are no buttonholes).

We give instructions for two yarn weights (worsted and aran) and two sizes for each. The larger of the two sizes will fit most women; for a petite head or for a child, knit the smaller size.

Skills Needed

Casting on, binding off, knitting, purling, picking up stitches along an edge, sewing on buttons

Sizing

Small/Medium and (Medium/Large)

Yarn

Worsted weight yarn: 66 yds/60 m (70 yds/64 m); Aran weight yarn: 70 yds/64 m (74 yds/68 m) Tahki Zona, color 004 – or any soft, heavy worsted/aran yarn that knits to gauge
